When I start Thunderbird with -turbo switch, window is shown although it shouldn't be. Plus, it's not displayed correctly (it's partly covered in gray) as in this image:

When I exit thunderbird started with -turbo, this is displayed in terminal:
(thunderbird-bin:3619): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_show_internal: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed

Without -turbo switch, thunderbird is working just fine.

The -turbo mode on Linux is not quite stable, though I have not seen that happen before while using the extension.

What distro and what version of Thunderbird are you using?

Didn't want to start a new thread. You should correct the description here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2831/ It says -tubo instead of -turbo

I am experiencing the same issue. -turbo starts thunderbird window open, closing thunderbird via right click on systray icon also closes turbo start icon with gdk error message as above.
Relevant version.
Gentoo 2.6.34-r11 xorg-server 1.9.0 xfce 4.1 thunderbird 3.1.3
