New to BBcode? needed to know what each button does. Good, your at the right place then. Below is a quick summery of what each button does.

While explaining what each button does, I will mentions highlight buttons. This term might need a bit of explaining itself. If you look at the first image you can see that the text is highlighted and the button is about to be pressed. The next screen shot shows the result, the highlighted text is warped in [b][/b] tags.

Button and Explanation

Bold
A highlight button that makes the text bold. Used [b]Bold[/b] in BBcode, <b>Bold</b> in HTML '''Bold''' and in Wiki
Italics
A highlight button that makes the text italics. Used [i]Italics[/i] in BBcode, <i>Italics</i> in HTML ''Italics'' and in Wiki
Underline
A highlight button that makes the text underlined. Used [u]Underline[/u] in BBcode, <u>Underline</u> in HTML and Wiki
Strike through
A highlight button that makes the text striked through. Used [s]Italics[/s] in BBcode, <del>Strike</del> in HTML and Wiki
Quote Box
A highlight button that makes the text display as a quote box, the appearance of the box varies greatly. Used [quote] A long Quote [/quote] in BBcode, <blockquote> A long Quote </blockquote> in HTML and Wiki.
Code Box
A highlight button that makes the text display as a code box. Again the appearance differences. Used [code]$var = $array[i];[/code] in BBcode, <code>$var = $array[i];</code> in HTML and Wiki
Bulleted List
A button the prompts you for the text. Uses more complex code than the above examples, and displays like this.

A button the prompts you for the text. Numbers are automatically assigned to each item. Uses more complex code than the above examples, and displays like this.

Color
A highlight button that makes the text colored. Uses [color=red]Red Text[/color] in BBcode, <span style="color:red">Red Text</span> in HTML and Wiki
Link
A button the prompts you for the text. And makes a normal LINK. Uses more complex code than the above examples
