Text Formatting Toolbar 0.1.4.12
The Text Formatting Toolbar is a toolbar that allows easy formatting of posts on forums, blog comments and wikis. It supports three formats: BBcode (bulletin board) like used on most forums, HTML, and the format used by Wikipedia.
How to use
After Downloading and installing the Text Formatting Toolbar the new toolbar will be visible and ready for use. You then need to select the format you want to use. The default is BBcode, but you can chose HTML or Wiki code depending on what you want to use it for. You can change this setting in the extension's option window, or a convenient button shown by default as the last button on the toolbar.
If you visit the Customize Toolbar window you will also find a button for the extension that toggles the toolbars visibility, since it is only needed when you actually going to post/reply to/edit something.
One of the major new features in the current version is a tool for creating custom buttons, you may notice the new icon at the end of the toolbar. Clicking on it gives a menu with two options, one to reload the custom button (this should be clicked after making changes to a button) the other is to actually edit them. The process is fairly simple, but there is a detailed tutorial for those that needed it. The button can be saved into files that can be sent to friends, when opened you will get a page like this one
- Strike through
- Quote Box
- Bulleted List
- Numbered List
- Text Color
- Code Box
- Text Size
- Center Align
- Left Align
- Right Align
Format Toolbar Composer
There is also another new feature in this version. An offline composer. This has received great interest and feed back mainly from forum admins. It allows you to great a post and store so it can be called upon at any time. Great for post templates/canned replies or simply because it had a better user interface for writing the posts in. Plus it means you don't have to write all of a long really at the same time, just save it an come back later. It could also be used just as a note taker, but I am also working on another extension dedicated to that.
